The System x3650 M5 server supports the following configurations:

8x 2.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bay storage dense server models that can be upgraded to 26

(24 on the front; 2 on the rear) 2.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bays

8x 2.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bay server models that can be upgraded to 18 (16 on the front;

2 on the rear) 2.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bays

8x 2.5-inch SATA Simple Swap drive bay server models that can be upgraded to 16x 2.5-inch SATA

8x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bay server models that can be upgraded to 10 (8 on the front; 2

on the rear) 3.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bays or 8x 3.5-inch plus 2x 2.5-inch SAS/SATA

hot-swap drive bays (for a total of 10 drive bays)

8x 3.5-inch SATA Simple Swap drive bay server models

12x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bay server models that can be upgraded to 14 (12 on the
